The process of joining the order:

Everyone who feels a calling to the Order is welcome to join, we arrive here from a variety of passions and causes that are close to our hearts. The process of joining is about sharing your passions and finding the enthusiasm we all share. So here goes.....

Aspirant - "I want to join the Order" 

Wherever and however you met us, we advise that you join us on a night out (we call it a Manifest), tag along as yourself, see what we do and how we work, see if that appeals to you. You are not expected to make a decision one way or the other on the night. if you decide that the Order is for you, we can then arrange for you to be inducted. At this stage there are two basic but very adaptable paths, the Nun (Postulant, Novice, Black Veil/Fully Professed Member FPM) and the Hench (Page, Squire, Knight)

Postulant/Page - "I'm a baby nun"

There's a public ceremony and you take your initial vows to become a member of the Order, there is a simple dress code for this, and rules about your makeup, also pretty simple, nothing to worry about! At this stage you can choose a Mother to mentor you through the process buts its not required, the entire House looks after each other all the time anyway. As a Postulant/Page you choose your name and start to develop you Nun Persona. Guidance and advice is always available. This time takes as long as it needs for you to observe, learn and ask every Question as many times as you bloody well like! 

When you're good and ready you then ask to elevate (fancy word, innit!) to the next stage. There's another public ceremony (showbiz darling).

Novice/Squire - White Veil - "Woohoo I'm a nun"

This also involves a dress code, but by now you'll know all this anyway. At this stage you're like totally a nun babe, but you still have plenty to learn! We all do!. You'll spend a while at this level, just polishing yourself up, until you're ready to elevate once more to the final stage.

That's right you guessed it another public ceremony (more showbiz darling)

Sister/Knight - Black Veil - "I'm really really a Supernun now" 

Congratulations! You're now a FPM (Fully Professed Member) of the Order! 

This is a very simple explanation of how it works, because everyone's journey through the Order is personal, so we won't even attempt to tell you what that is on here. We do have dress codes and makeup codes, they're designed to help your progression through the Order. There are also codes of conduct, again designed for you, and also thoroughly explained either when you ask, or when you need to know.
